Citizens who visited the Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) booth at the Cultural Exhibitions in Morogoro Region have expressed appreciation for the education they are receiving on how fuel is procured in the country and the Agency’s role in coordinating the process.
They said the exhibitions have been an important opportunity to gain understanding about the Bulk Procurement System – BPS and how it helps coordinate the availability of fuel in the country.
One of the visitors to the booth, Maria Ngilisho, said the education has helped her understand the fuel procurement process, which she previously did not have enough knowledge about.
“I’m happy to get this education because we use fuel every day, but we didn’t know the process that takes place until the fuel arrives in the country. Now I understand that there is an institution like PBPA that coordinates bulk fuel procurement,” she said.
Michael Maganga also said the face-to-face engagement with PBPA staff has given citizens the opportunity to ask questions and get direct clarification on various issues related to fuel.
“The education we get here is very important because we get the chance to ask questions that concern us as fuel consumers and we get answers from experts. It’s good for PBPA to continue using these exhibitions to reach citizens,” Maganga said.
According to PBPA, among the Agency’s responsibilities are collecting fuel demand from oil marketing companies, conducting international tenders for bulk fuel purchase, as well as coordinating the receipt and delivery of those products in the country.
The system aims to enable bulk fuel procurement, a step that helps coordinate market demand and ensure that this essential commodity is available reliably in the country.
PBPA’s participation in various exhibitions is part of the Agency’s efforts to increase public awareness of its mandate and its role in the fuel sector.
Through these exhibitions, citizens also get the opportunity to ask questions and get clarification from experts on the fuel procurement process and the steps being taken to ensure the continued reliable supply of the product in the country.
